Dave Slonaker Big Band at Vitello’s on April 3rd.

26 March 2019

Hi and welcome to the Dave Slonaker Big Band Newsletter.

I can’t believe it’s been almost six years since the Dave Slonaker Big Band made it’s debut performance at Vitello’s in Studio City, CA in 2013. (You can see us in the photo above.) It was a great night! Time flies and I’m happy to finally be returning to Upstairs at Vitello’s Supper Club for a performance on April 3rd. It’s a homecoming of sorts as well, since Studio City is where my wife and I first settled when we moved to California.

The band recently had the honor of performing at the Jazz Education Network Conference in Reno, Nevada on January 9th. It was an outstanding performance.
We’ll be be performing some of that music plus one or two premieres at our concert on April 3rd.

Arts education is a passion for me. If you are a jazz educator I would very much appreciate you sharing this email with your colleagues. I believe this is an excellent opportunity for your students to see and hear some of the finest musicians in the world. I know I stand in awe every time I’m in front of this band.

Performing at this concert will be Brian Scanlon, Kevin Garren, Rob Lockart, Tom Luer, Tim McKay on saxophones; Wayne Bergeron, Rob Shaer, Kye Palmer, Michael Stever on trumpets; Bob McChesney, Charlie Morillas, Erik Hughes, Bill Reichenbach on trombones; Ed Czach, piano; Chuck Berghofer, bass; and Peter Erskine on drums.

Come help us celebrate and support big band jazz in the San Fernando Valley.

The concert begins at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:30.
General Admission is $20. VIP seating is $30.
Reservations are recommended.

Please note that the price goes up $10 on the day of the performance so please reserve in advance.
