Celebration and discussion of the making of vocal a cappella sensation Accent’s new CD: Christmas All The Way featuring Andrew Kesler with Nan Schwartz, Dave Black, Jorge Calandrelli, Elliot Deutsch, and Gordon Goodwin

ACCENT is one of the most exciting a cappella vocal groups to emerge in the past decade. Comprising six young men from five different countries, the group pays homage to classic vocal styles while re-contextualizing songs with modern, fresh arrangements. Their brand new CD release, Christmas All the Way, is an ambitious project of holiday music that takes the group in new and unexpected directions.

On their previous recordings, they presented original, jazz and “jazzified” pop tunes arranged by the vocal group. On Christmas All the Way, the group decided to expand their palette by engaging some of the top orchestral arrangers in the business and including big band and string arrangements as well as their impeccable a cappella fare. The album also includes special guest performances by Arturo Sandoval, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, Gayle Levant, George Shelby, Don Shelton, Estonian Voices and more!

ACCENT’s music harkens to familiar styles and groups including The Hi-Lo’s, The Singers Unlimited and TAKE 6, but ACCENT’s approach is far more modern, combining swinging jazz with pop, choral, and R&B elements.

To celebrate the release of their new album, ACCENT member Andrew Kesler is hosting a special event in conjunction with ASMAC to discuss how this project came together; the conception, arrangements, recording, mixing and worldwide collaboration that brought the music to life. Andrew will be joined by executive producer Dave Black alongside special guest arrangers Jorge Calandrelli, Nan Schwartz, Elliot Deutsch and Gordon Goodwin. It will be an unforgettable evening of holiday cheer, and a rare peek under the hood guaranteed to thrill musicians, arrangers and producers of all styles.

Physical copies of Christmas All the Way will be available for a special price of $10 for event attendees, and ACCENT’s three previous records will also be available.
