ASMAC Scholarships Available

ASMAC is proud to announce that we are currently accepting applications for three scholarships at this time:

Van Alexander Scholarship for Arranging ~ $1,000, $500, $250

Ray Charles & Jon Charles Scholarship
for
Vocal Arranging ~ $1,000

David Blumberg MasterClass Scholarship

All three scholarships are in the names of longstanding board members of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers and we are honored to present these scholarships in their names.  

1. David Blumberg Scholarship – Offers a one year scholarship to attend all ASMAC Master Classes and First Thursday programs at no cost… in the name of award winning orchestrator, arranger, composer on albums with Gloria Gaynor, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, David Benoit and many more!

2. Van Alexander Scholarship for Instrumental Arranging – $1,000 … Alexander and Ella Fitzgerald co-wrote the national No.1 hit, ‘A-Tisket. A-Tasket’, he scored 22 full length feature films and hundreds of television segments. He received three separate Emmy nominations and celebrated his 100th birthday a few months prior to his passing.

3. Jon and Ray Charles Scholarship for Vocal Arranging – $1,000 … in the names of two ASMAC Boardmembers – father and son – Emmy winning arranger, composer, and orchestrator Jon Charles and Ray Charles, an Emmy-winning choral director, lyricist and composer who worked with Perry Como for three decades, sang the theme song for the television sitcom “Three’s Company” and didn’t mind being known as “the other Ray Charles.”
